Kenneth Muguna, born Kenneth Mugambi Muguna is a Kenyan professional footballer who plays for the Kenyan National Team as well as Azam, a Tanzanian Premier League. Muguna plays as a midfielder and he’s well-known for his versatility and not forgetting his agility when it comes to his positions.

Prior to his move to Tanzania, he had played for Gor Mahia for a season making 36 appearances and finding the net in the right place nine times. Internationally, he made his debut in 2017, and he has been a crucial part of the Harambee squad making 7 appearances and netting 1 goal in the seven appearances.

The Meru native began his football career while he was still a young lad,  he played in primary school and proceeded all the way to high school education. His career started taking shape after he completed his high school education, joining Western Stima.

He made his debut for Western Stima in their Youth team in 2007, he went on to sharpen his skills earning a promotion to the Senior team. Following his hard work and determination to the game, Muguna was crowned the 2016’s Most Valuable Player of the Year in the Kenyan Premier League Awards.

During the award, Muguna bagged a nice reward amounting to Ksh 1.6m. This was a result of his nomination for the Midfielder of the Year and the New Player of the Year.  Following a successful stint at Western Stima in 2016, Muguna decided to leave the club he called home for eight years.

Being among the best Midfielders at the time, he was poached by a top-tier club, Gor Mahia. Despite joining the leading title winners, his stint at the K’Ogalo only lasted for a season. In his one-season stay, Muguna made 30 appearances and scored nine goals, an average performance for a midfielder.

After Gor Mahia, he landed a nice offer outside the country where he joined Tirana, a football club based in Albanian in 2018. However, things didn’t pan out as he had expected as he only made 6 appearances for the club before leaving the same year.

From Albania, he joined his current team, Azam, a professional football team based in Tanzania.

Speaking of his international career, Muguna made was called up for the Kenyan senior team in 2017. Since then he has made 7 appearances with only one goal that e scored in 2019 during a game against Tanzania.
