June Chepkemei has a master’s degree in Communications Studies from Moi University, a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Communications, and a certification in Professional Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). Currently, June is working on a PhD in information science.

She is a member of many organizations, including the Public Relations Society of Kenya, the Women’s Chapter of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), and the Affiliate Membership of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

June was the Communications Business Partner at Safaricom Limited after working in the media profession for six years, climbing through the ranks to become a Business News editor and TV & Radio talk show host.

June Chepkemei is the Acting Managing Director of Kenya Investment Authority (KENINVEST). Before her appointment on January 30th, 2023, June Chepkemei was the Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager at Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA).

June was the project coordinator for a new institute of strategic national importance, the Kenya Advance Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), built in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (MOE).

She spearheaded the Konza Innovation Ecosystem Initiative, which brings together industry players to encourage the commercialization of research and the creation of innovative solutions and businesses inside Konza.

The 41st World Conference of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP), scheduled for 2024, was successfully bid upon by Kenya in 2022 under June’s leadership. Additionally, she was a group member in charge of implementing Technology and Innovation Jamhuri in 2022.

She was selected as one of the Top 25 Women in Digital for 2021 and nominated to the Taskforce on the Kenya Media Policy Guidelines.
