Strathmore School KCSE Results

Strathmore School is a private boys’ school and one of the top-performing schools located in the leafy suburbs of Lavington, Nairobi, Kenya. In 2022, they were on the top of the table in the KCSE results ranking sixth nationally as the only private school.

The 2022 year was one of the best years posting an impressive mean score of 10.5. This placed the school in a better ranking nationally becoming sixth. This was a significant improvement compared to the previous years. Of the 90 entries they had that year, the school managed to secure 99.9% of university entries. In 2021, they also recorded an improvement compared to the previous years. On top of that, they also recorded the highest number of candidates who scored A plains. Their mean score for that year was 9.885 as per their school website, Strathmore.ac.ke. The computer students carried the day all of them earned a clean A. KCSE Results 2020/21

2020 was a hard year for many learners worldwide as they had to study from home following the COVID-19 strike. Despite all this Strathmore boys still managed to perform and post excellent performances with 96% of their total entry attaining University grades. Strathmore School History

Strathmore was founded in 1961 as the first multi-racial school in Kenya, starting as a residential Sixth Form College offering British A-level courses with Cambridge School Certificate Examination. In 1963 the school shifted from Cambridge School Certificate Examination to London GCE.

In 1977, the school became a secondary school and in 1988 the school adopted the 8-4-4 system offering the KCSE examination and they have maintained the system till date. Currently, the school operates as a day school with zero borders

Strathmore is among the most coveted day schools in Nairobi County and every year they get more applications than the number they can hold. Unlike other schools, Strathmore does offer a written test to their candidates who want admission to their school.

This gives equal chances to the candidates without concentrating much on their KCPE results. However, those selected to do the test must have good grades in the KCPE exams.

Being a private school many might think it’s a rich-man school. However, this is not the case as the school admits kids from different backgrounds. Through their bursary schemes which mainly come from donors. According to their portal, approximately 15% of their students are learning courtesy of the bursary scheme.
