Nakuru Girls High School is a public national secondary school and one of the best-performing schools in Nakuru County and the country as a whole. The school is among the 18 national schools that have been in existence for over three decades thus entering cluster 3 of national school categorization.
Nakuru Girls High School also stands out as one of the schools that were established by white settlers to provide education for their kids, thus earning the name Nakuru European School. The school was renamed to its current name after the departure of the colonial government.

As shown in the table above, the 2023 year was among their best academic years compared to the previous year. In this year’s results, they managed to earn 4 As, a pass rate of 92%, and a mean score of 8.50. This was a significant improvement compared to how they had performed in 2022 earning 0 As, a pass rate of 83%, and a mean score of 8.14.
However, despite the improvement the school was unable to match their 2019 KCSE results when they entered the top 20 best schools country-wide that year with a mean score of 9.52 which remains their best mean score in their academic history.

The 2022 year was an average year for them, despite earning zero As the school still managed to maintain its mean score range. In 2022, the school recorded a mean score of 8.14, and 221 students of 265 managed to secure university grades. The remaining 44 were eligible to join public technical schools for diploma and certificate courses.
