Kakamega School KCSE Results

Kakamega School formerly known as Government African School Kakamega is a public national secondary school located in the Western part of Kenya, Kakamega County. The school was founded in 1932 but never gained national status until 2012 when the then minister of education promoted over to 90 schools.

Being a national school the school has the chance of selecting the top performing pupils from different parts of the country. Their current status was not only awarded to them due to the years they have operated but their performance in the national examination played a crucial role in their promotion.

In this article, we highlight their recent performance in the recent years. We also look at the history of the school for a better understanding.

Kakamega School History

The history of Kakamega School goes back to 1932 starting as Government African School Kakamega. Before its commissioning, Mr. Harold Arthur Waterloo Chapman was appointed as the first Principal of the school in 1931.

The doors of the school were opened in 1932 with Chapman as the lead of the school. He went on to leave a mark in the school that is being remembered to date, he served for over two decades retiring in 1955 before dying in 1988. To keep his name as part of the school, they named one of the dormitories after his name.

Having set a good path for others to follow, his predecessor went on to continue his good work, and currently, the school is ranked as one of the best schools in Western and Kenya as a whole. Despite the ranking being stopped years ago, the school has been doing quite well in the academic field.
