Bishop Ole Sapit, born Jackson Ole Sapit is a Kenyan Anglican church bishop, he was elected as the sixth archbishop and primate of the Anglican church on May 20, 2016. He also served as a vicar at the Belgut parish in Nakuru Diocese between 1992-1994.

Ole Sapit was also a diocesan mission and development coordinator at the Diocese of Nakuru . he has served a number of dioceses in different places in Kenya in the past before he was even elected as the sixth archbishop and primate of the Anglican church, where he was installed at All Saints cathedral in Nairobi.

Bishop Ole Sapit’s Early Life

Jackson Nasoore Ole Sapit was born on 12th, June 1964. in 1977Ole Sapit was baptized. He attended a primary school known as Rotian Primary School from 1972 to 1980 and later joined Narok High School from 1981 to 1984. After his completion in high school Ole Sapit was confirmed in 1985, Also worked as an evangelist and a community motivator in  Narok from 1987-1988.

Ole Sapit’s Education life

Working as an evangelical and a community motivator Ole Sapit joined the Berea Theological College Nakuru pursuing a diploma course in Theology from 1989-1991.  Ole Sapit was ordained as a deacon o July 1991, later he became a priest in July 1992..he also served as a vicar at the belgut parish in Nakuru Diocese between 1992 and 1994.

Ole Sapit later joined  St. Paul’s University in Limuru, he studied for a degree in Theology from 1994 until his completion in 1997. In 1999 he obtained a certificate in research /consultancy at Daystar University.

He later moved to England to the University of Reading where he obtained his Master’s degree in social development and sustainable livelihoods in 2002-2003

In 2012 Ole Sapit was awarded an honorary doctorate in professional studies for lifelong learning by the Global University of California

Ole Sapit’s career began after he was confirmed in 1985, where he worked as a missionary and a community motivator at Narok for one year. In July 1991 Ole Sapit was ordained as a deacon and later he became a priest in July 1992. His mission didn’t stop he became pastor at Belgut Parish in Nakuru Diocese from 1992 to 1994

Ole Sapit later served as a vicar and a project manager for the Transmara rural development in Kilgoris Parish from 1997-2002. In 2003-2004 he served as a diocese mission and development coordinator for Nakuru diocese.

Ole Sapit was a Suffragan Bishop at the diocese of Kericho for two years 2005-2007. Since Ole Sapit was a diocesan for diocese for Kericho from 2008 onwards he was elected as the new sixth archbishop and primate.

He was elected as the sixth archbishop and primate of the Anglican church by the six contenders. His crowning as the archbishop and primate of the Anglican church at the House of Bishops took place at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi on May, 20th, 2016.

He was later installed on July, 3rd, 2016 at  All Saints Cathedral Nairobi. Ole Sapit’s election as the Anglican archbishop was fair he had proven his worth for being a supporter of the Anglican realignment.
