In most cases, enrollment for diploma programs begins in September; however, a few programs start registration in January and some in December.

Most of Kenyatta University’s diploma programs are only offered full-time, except for a few programs that can be enrolled entirely online or with the assistance of the Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning (DSVOL).

List of Kenyatta University Certificate Courses, Requirements, and Fees Structure

1. Diploma in Project management

A minimum grade of C (plain) is required in KCSE or C- (Minus) mean grade at KCSE or equivalent with a Certificate in a relevant area from a recognized institution. Or else be a holder of KACE with one Principal and subsidiary.

The annual fee is Kshs 52 000 for East Africans, Kshs. 65 000 Non-East Africans and Kshs 19 900 in statutory fees.

2. Diploma in Disaster Management

A minimum grade of C (plain) is required in KCSE, Division III, or equivalent.

Or else C- (Minus) mean grade at KCSE or equivalent with a Certificate in relevant area from a recognized institution.

The annual fee is Kshs 52 000 for East Africans, Kshs. 65 000 Non-East Africans and Kshs 19 900 in statutory fees.

3. Diploma in Information Technology

A minimum grade of C (plain) with C (plain) in English and Mathematics is required in KCSE or equivalent.

Or else C- (Minus) mean grade at KCSE or equivalent with a Certificate in relevant area from a recognized institution.

The annual fee is Kshs 52 000 for East Africans, Kshs. 65 000 Non-East Africans and Kshs 19 900 in statutory fees.

4. Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation

A minimum grade of C (plain) is required in KCSE or C- (Minus) mean grade at KCSE or equivalent with a certificate in a relevant area from a recognized institution. Or else be a holder of KACE with one Principal and subsidiary.

The annual fee is Kshs 52 000 for East Africans, Kshs. 65 000 Non-East Africans and Kshs 19 900 in statutory fees.

5. Diploma in Tourism Management

A minimum grade of C (plain) is required in KCSE with at least a C- (minus) in three of the following Geography/History, Biology/ Biological Sciences, English/Foreign Languages, and Business Studies/Computer Studies. Or else mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with a Certificate in relevant field from a recognized institution.

The annual fee is Kshs 52 000 for East Africans, Kshs. 75 000 Non-East Africans and Kshs 19 900 in statutory fees.

6. Diploma in Crime Management and Prevention

A minimum grade of C (plain) is required in KCSE or equivalent. Or else mean grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with a Certificate in relevant field from a recognized institution.
