Kenyatta University Certificate Courses, Requirements and Fees Structure

This article will discuss Kenyatta University Certificate Courses, Requirements, and Fees Structure and how to apply. About seven different certificate programs are offered at various Kenyatta University campuses nationwide.

In most cases, enrollment for certificate programs begins in September; however, a few programs start registration in January.

Most of Kenyatta University’s certificate programs are offered full-time, except for a few programs that can be enrolled online or with the assistance of the Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning (DSVOL).

List of Kenyatta University Certificate Courses, Requirements, and Fees Structure

1. Certificate in Project Management

A full-time business school course is provided at the main campuses, Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, and Embu.

A mean grade of KCSE C- (Minus) or its equivalent OR KCE Division III or its equivalent is required.

Fees are Ksh 40,000 for East Africans and Ksh 21,300 for statutory fees.

2. Certificate in Music

The course is available full-time at the main campus at the School of Film, Media Studies, and School of Creative & Performing Arts.

A minimum grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or equivalent with proven participation in Music is required.

Fees are Kshs 40,000 for East Africans, plus Kshs 21,300 in statutory fees.

3. Certificate in Film and Theatre Arts

The certificate is offered on a regular full-time basis at the Ruiru campus at the School of Film, Media Studies, and School of Creative & Performing Arts.

Require a minimum grade of C- (Minus) at KCSE or its equivalent and shown engagement in Mass Communication, Theatre Arts or Film or Division III in KCE or its correspondent.

The fee is Kshs 65,000, for East Africans, Kshs. 81,657 Non-East Africans and Kshs 21,000 in statutory fees.

4. Certificate in Chinese language and Culture

The course is offered at the city campus and Kenyatta University’s main campus at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences on a full/part-time basis.

Fluency in the Chinese language and Culture is preferred, although a KCSE average of C- (minus) or above OR an equivalent is acceptable.

Fees are Kshs 40,000 for East Africans, plus Kshs 21,300 in statutory fees.

5. Certificate in Digital Animation

The course is offered at the Ruiru campus at the School of Creative & Performing Arts, Film and Media Studies full-time.

A minimum grade of C- in KCSE or equivalent is required.

The fee is Kshs 65,000, for East Africans, Kshs. 81,657 Non-East Africans and Kshs 21,000 in statutory fees.

6. Certificate in Project Monitoring & Evaluation

The course is offered at Kenyatta University’s main campus, Embu, Mombasa, and Nakuru.

A minimum grade of C- in KCSE or equivalent or KCE Division III or its equivalent is required.

Fees are Kshs 40,000 for East Africans, plus Kshs 21,300 in statutory fees.

7. Certificate in Sports Administration and Management

The certificate is offered on Kenyatta University’s main campus, Garissa, Embu, Mombasa, Nakuru, and Kisumu campuses.

A minimum grade of C- is required in KCSE or O Level, Division III.

The fee is Kshs 44 4000, for East Africans, Kshs. 43 000 Non-East Africans and Kshs 32 900 in statutory fees.
