List Of Counties in Kenya, Their Governors, Codes and Population
In 2010, Kenyans descended on a referendum to change the constitution during the reign of President Mwai Kibaki. One of the important clauses of the new constitution proposed the abolishment of the provincial administration and adoption of county government administration through devolution. On august 4 2010, Kenyans voted in the new constitution which took effect from 2013 after president Uhuru was elected into office.
Kenya now has a total of 47 counties, 290 constituencies and 1450 wards.This article focuses on the list of 47 counties in Kenya, their codes, population (2019 Census) and governors as of 2021.
