Ezekiel Machogu is the nominated Cabinet Secretary for Education in the just-released list of cabinet appointees by the President.
He is a Kenyan politician who previously served as the MP for Nyaribari Masaba Constituency, Kisii County. He unsuccessfully vied against Governor Simba Arati in the Kisii Gubernatorial position in the 2022 general elections.
Following his appointment to the cabinet, which is subject to parliamentary vetting and approval, he has become a person of interest.

Ezekiel Machogu Education
Machogu attended a local primary school in Nayribari Masaba before proceeding to Nduru High School in 1979 where he did his O-Levels. In 1974, he joined the famous Agoro Sare High School for his A-Levels education.
He thereafter joined the University of Nairobi for a bachelor of art degree and graduated in 1979.
Ezekiel Machogu Career
In the same year he graduated (1979), he was employed as a district officer by the office of the president where he served for several years. He was later promoted to the position of district commissioner in 1989 where he served until 2008.
Between 2008 and 2016, he worked as a senior deputy secretary in the public service commission. He thereafter left to pursue his interest in elective politics.

Machogu joined politics in 2017 when he vied and won the Nyaribari Masaba Constituency MP race. He served in the national assembly until 2022 when he decided to try a higher bid. He competed against ODM’s Simba Arati in the Kisii gubernatorial race but lost to Arati, who won resoundingly.
