Eric Omondi is a seasoned Kenyan Comedian, Actor, Radio and TV Presenter, professional Emcee, and the President of Comedy in Africa.
Ever since he joined the comedy industry, he has built and established his brand as a top comedian that no one can ever dare dispute. In 2020, he was named as the best comedian in Africa or simply the president of comedy in Africa, not just in Kenya, but Africa as a continent.

Eric Hails from the Luo community whose members reside on the lakeside. Recently, the county government of Kisumu decided to name a road in Kisumu town after eric Omondi and he could not hide the joy that had befallen him. He thanked the county government for the great honor they accorded him.

Eric is a second born in a family of four. He has a brother called Fred Omondi, who is also a comedian and lives in the City, and a younger sister called Rose Omondi.
He has other two siblings identified as pollate and Irene Omondi who he pays for their school fees, upkeep, and anything else that they need.
His father was a chief inspector and an OCS in Kisumu. Both his parents and one brother, Joseph Onyango Omondi passed on.

Eric attended Kondele Primary school where he sat for his KCPE examination. He later moved to Kisumu Boys High School for his secondary education and sat for his KCSE in the same school. Omondi enrolled at Daystar University for his tertiary education in 2006 and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor of arts degree in Mass Communication.
Eric Omondi Career.
Since his days as a student, Eric had always wanted to be a news reporter. After graduating from University, he started out as a reporter at NTV Kenya. However, this was not meant to be as he was kicked out barely two weeks after getting hired. He did a story that was not well received by his seniors at NTV. Terming him as not good enough to be a reporter, moreso at their station, they dismissed him immediately.
It is then that he decided to chase his dreams in the comedy world. He was signed by Churchill as a comedian on Churchill Live and began performing as a stand-up Comedian. A year later, he was hired to host his own comedy show dubbed Hawayu at KTN, the show was later canceled due to poor performance.

After his show was canceled at KTN, Eric went back to the drawing board to strategize on how to improve his comedy. He started delivering electrifying performances on Churchill Show, which placed his name among the greatest comedians on Kenyan soil.
He later left Churchill Show with his godfather’s (Churchill) blessings to launch his own comedy show that he named Hawayuni single-handedly. He continued with stand-up comedy as well as acting comedy skits that helped him build a large base of followers on social media. Currently, he gets booked to perform in different foreign countries both as a stand-up comedian or as an Emcee.
